IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Diane C.
Foradas
May 23, 1934 – January 9, 2026
Diane always fought for what she believed in, and she fought hard to be with her family until the end. She passed away on Friday, January 9th at age 91, surrounded by those that loved her.
Diane was born in Canton, Ohio and remained a life-long resident. She married the love of her life, Peter, on September 5th, 1954. Her children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews, Godchildren and friends meant the world to her. Diane was preceded in death by her loving husband Peter, her parents John and Georgia Armatas, siblings and in-laws Paul (Katheryn), Mary (Ron) Sprague, Andy (Mary Ann) Anthony Pachares and Carolyn and Tony Spilios. She is survived by her children Michael (Valerie) Foradas of Kenilworth, IL and Georgeanne (Jeffery) Katsuleas of Lisle, IL; her grandchildren, who especially loved her and called her Yiayia Dena, Allie Foradas (Sam Waterbury), Peter Foradas (Eliza Conaty) and Peter (fiancé Caroline Wysocki) Katsuleas; her sister Athena Pachares; and many loving nieces and nephews.
After graduating from McKinley High School, Diane worked at the Hoover Company, Spilios Candy Company and Plain Township Schools. In her retirement she became an avid crafter, participating in craft shows and creating custom jewelry known as Dena's Vintage Pins. She loved her gardens, decorating and making things beautiful.
Diane was a woman of deep faith and very proud of her Greek heritage. She was a life-long member of St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church and was honored as a Woman of Distinction in 2016. She was a devoted member of the parish, lending her talents to many projects: helping to establish the Festival of Tables and the church's Icon and Bookstore. Diane was a life-long member of the church choir, Philoptochos and Silver Liners. Outside of church, she volunteered at Mercy Hospital, with the Red Cross, and she chaired fundraisers at the Canton Symphony League.
The family extends their sincere thanks to the staff of the Inn at Belden Village and Southern Care Hospice for the care they afforded Diane. Most of all our deepest gratitude goes to Gloria Robbins, her daily companion and friend for the last 6 years.
The family will receive friends at St. Haralambos prior to the funeral service starting at 10 A.M. on Friday, January 16, 2026, with Rev. Dr. Nicholas V. Gamvas officiating the service at 11A.M. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church, the Red Cross or the Alzheimer's Association.
