Diane (Gaitanos) Siminges, age 96 of Canton, passed away Monday evening. Born in Mytilene, Greece to the late Alexandros and Aikaterene (Sazaklis) Gaitanos, she was preceded in death by her husband Konstantinon Siminges whom she married on January 14, 1951 in Korinth, Greece, sisters Zaharoula Gaitanos Tsolakis (husband Andones Tsolakis deceased), Maria Gaitanos Koufos (husband Vasilios Koufos deceased), nephews Dr. Alex Koufos and Rick Porter. Diane was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and the Senior Citizens of Holy Trinity. She was a seamstress for many years at Kobacker's, George-Ann's and Parisienne before retiring. She is survived by her niece Katherine Koufos Porter, niece Maria Tsolaki Nomikou and husband Valsamos, nephew Andreas (Gogo) Tsolakis, nephew Petros (Nancy) Gaitanos, niece Katerina Alevras Koufos, many great and great-great nieces and nephews from Diane's family and Konstantinon's family. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Father Dan Rogich, Father Nick Gamvas, the caring staff of Aultman Hospice, the staff at Canton Regency, friends Angelo and Rita Trikkas and Elaina, John and Clare Stasin, Theofilos Skouras, Anthoula Alevras, Elsie Pesquaro and Sarah Holm, great-nephew Demetrios (Jen) Geniatakis and great-niece Alethea (Jason) Swiecicki and their children Lazarus and Soleil for their help in caring for Diane. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 10 to 11 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with funeral services to follow at 11:00, Rev. Dr. Daniel Rogich officiating. Internment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Diane's name may be made to Aultman Hospice or the Senior Citizen's of Holy Trinity.
