IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dominic A.
Dangelo
July 4, 1920 – June 29, 2013
Dominic Anthony Dangelo, age 92, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2013. He was born on July 4, 1920, in Summitville, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Constantina (Prinze) Dangelo. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, and was a veteran of World War II. Dominic spent his younger years in Summitville; until his marriage to Irene (Kaser) Dangelo and employment at the Ford Motor Company eventually relocated them to Canton, Ohio. Upon his retirement from the Ford Motor Company, he and Irene remained in the Canton area. He continued friendships with many of the Ford retirees throughout the years, joining them for breakfast gatherings. Special thanks to John Stocker, who went out of his way to be of help in any way he could, especially when Dominic's health began to fade. Although Dominic and Irene were never blessed with children, they focused their love and attention on their family and friends – especially their nieces and nephews. Dominic was a proud man of few words, but was always there to help his family and friends in a quiet, giving, and unassuming manner - never expecting to be repaid. He was a father figure to those in the family who experienced that need in their lives for one reason or another and will be greatly missed as we deal with his loss in our lives. In addition to his parents, Dominic was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Irene; brothers Anthony (Sylvia) Dangelo; Patsy (Mary) Dangelo; and Charles Dangelo; sisters Rose (Carl) Welsh; Cora ("Clarky") Clark; Jane (Jim) Zacchero; Helen (Biagio) Infanti; Mary (John) Bernabei; Marie (Angelo) Sabatino; and Corrine (Chuck) Zody. The family would like to express their gratitude to all who assisted Dominic in so many ways after the passing of his loving wife, Irene – whether it was helping with laundry; preparing meals; taking him to appointments as his health began to diminish; or just stopping by to say "hello." Your love and kindness meant so much to him. Thank you also to Chapel Hill Retirement Community's Fast Track and Assisted Living departments for their kindness, compassion and assistance during the short time he spent there. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Dominic's memory to Chapel Hill Retirement Community, Canal Fulton, OH, or the charity of your choice. Honoring his wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 5, 2013, at 11:00a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Summitville, Ohio, with Rev. Fr. James Lang as celebrant. Interment will be at St. John Roman Catholic Cemetery in Summitville.
