Donna J. Weiss, age 77 of Canton, passed away Friday, March 14th, 2025 in St Joseph Nursing Home. She was born November 5th, 1947, in Canton to the late John and Mona (Dolph) Egan. She graduated from Canton McKinley Senior High School, Class of 1965. She worked as a supervisor at the Stark County Board of Elections for 22 years and later for Canton City Council for 8 years, where she retired. She was a life-long member of the Stark County Democratic Women's Club. Donna was the 2012 Stark County Democrat of the Year. She had a passion for politics, especially local politics. She loved elections and she encouraged her children and grandchildren to exercise their right to vote. Donna always instructed her family to leave it blank if they were not voting for the Democrat.

Donna was a very giving person and always willing to help her family. Her car was always the first in the car line when she picked up the grandchildren at school. She never visited empty-handed and anything her grandchildren might need or want could be found in the trunk of her car. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren meant the world to her.

She is survived by daughters Sandra (Andrew) Reo of Canton and Denice Scassa of Massillon; son Joseph "Billy Hoe" (Leia) Weiss of Canton; children's father Joseph Weiss of Carrollton; in-laws Joseph and Debbie (Weiss) Nieporte of Canton; grandchildren Antonio (Abigail) Scassa, Anjolena Scassa, Andrew Reo, Samantha Reo, Madisyn Parks, Taylor Weiss, Braylwyn Tabellion, and Zoey Weiss; great-grandchildren Catalina, Carmen, Tonio, Valentina, Vincenza, and Brody Michael. She is also survived by sisters Julia King and Janice Egan-Brenner, and brother Frank Egan all of Canton. Donna was preceded in death by her sister Sandra Egan, brother John Egan, nephew Randy Egan, and special niece Monica Massey.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, March 21st from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A private service will be held at a later date.
