Donna (North) Dawson, 65 of Louisville, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, December 30, 2018, after a 26 month battle with Glioblastoma. Donna was retired from the Canton City School District where she worked as a school secretary, most recently at Worley Elementary School, for 28 years. Donna didn't allow the odds of Glioblastoma to stop her. During her final 26 months, she traveled, golfed, and enjoyed fun times with family and friends. She was determined to beat this and she faced it with bravery and courage. She led a huge team of supporters known as "Team Dawson," and they were by her side until the end. Donna was born on October 23, 1953. She is preceded in death by her mother, Irene North. Donna is survived by her father, William L North; her husband of 46 years, Michael Dawson of Louisville; her two children Stephanie (Jesse) Iverson of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Laura (Brian) Steenrod of Louisville; her grandchildren, each of whom NaNa treated with the most love imaginable, Jenna, Evan, Ellie and Leah; her brother; her dog, Bella; and countless friends. Special thanks to the caring staff at the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Center, Green Meadows Health and Wellness Center in Louisville, and Crossroads Hospice. Per Donna's wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
