Obituary

Douglas E. Babcock, age 59 of Canton, passed away Monday evening after an extended illness. Born in Canton to the late Charles and Mary (Brahler) Babcock he was preceded in death by his brothers Charles Jr. and Kurt Babcock. He was a 1973 graduate of Lincoln High School. Doug was an avid golfer and all around sportsman. He had worked for over 20 years as a mixologist at the El Dorado Casino in Reno, Nevada. He is survived by his wife Jill, daughter Madison Babcock, sister Nancy Xides, brothers Jim, Greg (Cindy Waikem), Mark Babcock, nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 5 to 8 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Msgr. Frank A. Carfagna, celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society (www.nationalmssociety.org). The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Hospitality House, Crossroads Hospice and the Oak Clinic, but especially dear friends Will and Maxine Logan and Dale Neff.
