Obituary

Douglas J. Pauly, 69, of Canton, deeply loved and cherished by many, passed away early Monday morning, surrounded by his devoted family. He was born in Miami, Florida, to the late Lavern J. and Betty Jane (Morella) Pauly. A member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish, he was a dedicated businessman who cared about his employees and always prioritized his family. Doug found joy in being outdoors, growing a garden, working at his cattle farm and cabin at Leesville Lake. He loved spending time with friends and family playing corn hole, having parties on the hill and viewing the stars. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, (The Warden "Wilma") Joan C. (Gardner) Pauly; daughters Heather (Darrell) Duncan, Threasa (Matthew) Takacs, and Kristina Pena; and 14 grandchildren: Amber, Madalynn, Rachel, Matthew (Brittany), Nina, David, Macy, Michael, Anthony, Vincent, Mitchel, Nathaniel, Miles, and Geovani. He is also survived by his sisters Lisa (Terry) Brown, Kim Lopez, sister-in-laws Marty Caudle, Mary Jane (Kevin) Johnson and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish, with Rev. Fr. Benson Okpara as the celebrant.
