Douglas R. Schmalzl, age 74 of Canton, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023. Born in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania to the late Robert and Ruth (Smith) Schmalzl, he was a 1967 graduate of Glenwood High School. He was a member of the North Canton Eagles Aerie #2223. Doug was an auto mechanic retiring from Waikem Motors. He was an avid woodworker.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years Holly (Ramsey) Schmalzl, step-children Stacy (Eric White) Bruey, Sam (Jessica) Boccuti, brother Bill (Carol) Schmalzl, and sister Linda Lawrence. There will be no calling hours or service per Doug's wishes.
