IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eleanora A.
Nader
May 1, 1933 – December 2, 2025
Eleanora Nader died quietly in her home on December 2, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was 92 years old.
Eleanora was born to an Italian immigrant family in Canton and resided in the area her entire life. She attended 12 years of Catholic School, graduating from Central Catholic High School. After graduation, she worked at Thurin's and Republic Steel until she married her husband Blair in 1957. They adored each other and were happily married for 53 years. Along the way, they raised and educated three children - Blair, Lisa and John.
Eleanora was a gifted cook and baker, who prepared many memorable meals for her family and friends. She was also known for her empathy and kindness to others. For example, she regularly volunteered at Mason Elementary and other Canton City schools, often bringing baked goods for the children she was assisting. Her home was always open to guests, be they friends, neighbors or her large extended family. As a result, her home became the "hangout of choice" for friends of her children, from grade school all the way through college. When these kids were hungry, Eleanora always made sure they had an after-school snack or a full meal. No one ever left her home hungry.
Eleanora was a prolific reader and could speak knowledgeably on a number of topics. She filled her home with books and actively encouraged her children to read. She was a strong believer in education. From an early age, her children understood that they were expected to attend college.
Eleanora was preceded in death by her little sister Genevieve, her parents Elia and Serafina, her husband Blair and her siblings Fred, Matilda and Larry. She is survived by her three children, spouses, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A private family service is planned.
