Elias N. Hilaneh, age 85, of Canton, fell asleep with the Lord on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. He was born on March 3, 1933 in Hena, Syria to the late Naim and Jedda (Shaheen) Hilaneh. Elias was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Canton. Elias was preceded in death by his sister Mary Michael. He is survived by his wife Jamileh (Awad); his children, Lamice (Mich) Jasser, Hisham (Nectaria), Mary, Jazla, Maiy (Shannon) Carneal, John; and fourteen beloved grandchildren. Also survived by his two nieces, a nephew and their families; also many relatives and dear friends. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. Funeral services will begin at 2:30 p.m., with Very Rev. Fr. Michael Corbin officiating. Interment will follow in West Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. May his memory be eternal.
