Elizabeth D. Michalek, age 86, of Canton, passed away Friday afternoon. Born in Delmont, Pennsylvania to the late Antonio and Dora (Merlino) Cavicchio, she has been a Canton resident for most of her life. A retired school secretary from the Plain Local School District, she was formerly employed by the Timken Company. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Henry Michalek, sisters Mary Bogdan, Lena Pergola and Ann Altieri and brother Emilio Cavvichio. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews whom she dearly loved. Family and friends will be received on Monday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church at Christ the Servant Parish with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano as celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Liz's name can be made to Central Catholic High School, Christ the Servant Parish or Sancta Clara Monastery.
