Elpinickie (Vaitsis) Simitacolos, age 97 of Florida, formerly of Canton, passed away Friday, April 26th. Born in Canton to the late George and Irene (Nicoluidou) Vaitsis, she was also preceded in death by her husband James Simitacolos, sisters Nicholet and Katherine Vaitsis. She was a member of St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church, Philoptochos, and the Silver Liners. She was a self-empolyed cosmetologist. Nickie is survived by her daughters Irene (Ronald) Hamilton, Stephanie (David) McGaw, grandchildren Michael (Amanda) Hamilton, Michelle (Joshua) Rathweg, Samuel (Courtney) McGaw, Dee McGaw, 5 great grandchildren Avery and Bryn Rathweg, Olivia Hamilton, Crew and Madden McGaw, sister Mary Hadjian, and brother Anthony "Tony" Vaitsis. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 9th, 11:00 am, at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Dr. Nicholas V. Gamvas officiating. Interment will b in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Nikki's name may be made to St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church.
