Emil Nick Stefan, age 84 of Canton, passed away Wednesday evening. He was born in Canton to the late Nick and Pearl (Petricoux) Stefan, he was preceded in death by his wife Norma (Garrini) Stefan and grandson Brent Valentine. Emil was a 1951 graduate of Louisville High School and an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1985 from the East Ohio Gas Company, with over 30 years of service. Emil was an avid card player, playing even up until his last few days. He was also a golfer for numerous years; and enjoyed watching sports of all kind, but most of all, he loved watching his children and grandchildren play them. Family mattered the most to Emil, and the perfect way to end the week would be with a cook out. He is survived by his children Emil (Melissa) Stefan, Diana (Michael) Valentine, Cristina (Joseph) Ambs, Dr. Michael (Andrea) Stefan, Darren (Bobbi) Stefan, sister Helen Zablo, 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home with services to follow at 11:30 a.m., with Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
