Ernest "Ernie" J. Buonocore, Jr., age 68 of Canton, passed away with his family by his side on Monday, May 15, 2023. He was born on May 5, 1955 to the late Ernest, Sr. and Jean (Barnett) Buonocore. He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1974, and after worked for 28 years at the Hercules Manufacturing Company. Ernie was later self-employed, retiring in 2013. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards, but above all, he loved spending time with his family.
Ernie is survived by his wife of 47 years, LuAnn (DiAntonio) Buonocore; children Bryan (Amy) Buonocore of Canton, Kristin Otte of North Canton, Michelle (Jason) Stang of Mooreville, MS; grandchildren Bryan II, Zachary, Sonny, Jack, Ernie, Kim, Cesina, Noah and Colton. Also survived by his siblings Debbie (Tony) Wood, Cathy (Stan) Wood, John (Renee) Buonocore, and Gina Buonocore; mother-in-law Ruth DiAntonio; sisters-in-law Linda (Greg) Zugrave, Cathy (Mickey) McLean, and Susan (Rick) Kmetz; brother-in-law Louie (Pat) DiAntonio; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Rossi Family Funeral Home on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held St. Peter Catholic Church on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 10 a.m., with the Very Reverend John E. Sheridan, S.T.L. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
