Ernest F. Premier (Primavera) age 94 of Canton, passed away early Monday, December 5, 2016. Born in Canton to the late Domenico and Carmela Primavera. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Sylvester Premier, Joseph Premier, and Anthony Primavera; sisters Rafaela Giacchetta and Carmel Primavera; and infant grandson Andrew John Palumbo. Ernest was an awarded Army WWII Veteran. He was a self-employed businessman for many years. A member of St. Peter Catholic Church, and an avid gardener. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Rosina "Rene" (Alfano) Premier, daughters Annette (John) Palumbo, Debra Premier Michalek, son Domenico Premier, granddaughter Melissa (Adam) Sterner, great-grandsons Jacob Dennis and Ethan James Sterner, brother William Primavera, sister Mary Polsinelli and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter Catholic Church, with Rev. Fr. Edward Beneleit as celebrant. Internment with military honors will be in Northlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 75817, Topeka, Kansas 66675 or Aultman Hospice. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Bethany Nursing Home for all their loving care.
