Ethel M. (Fiscus) Gainey, age 90 of Canton, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 12, 1935 in Canton to the late Herman and Sarah (Larkin) Fiscus, she was also preceded in death by her husbands Ronald Mitchell, Jack Gainey, daughter Brenda Dean, great granddaughter Gianna Rose Charles, and three sisters. Ethel was a graduate of Canton McKinley High School. She was a member of Christ the Servant Parish, North Canton YMCA, and the Massillon Hiking Club. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed oil painting and loved to do crafts. Ethel was a retired health care worker having worked for Stark MRDD Sheltered Workshop. Ethel is survived by her children Cindy (Bill) Charles, Vickie (Mike) Forchione, Scot (Barb) Dean, seven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Rossi Family Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian burial to follow, 11:00 am, at Christ the Servant Parish. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ethel's name may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
