Eugene (Gene) L. Jialanella, age 88 of Canton, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016. Born to the late Joseph and Filomena (DeGorio) Jialanella, he was a life resident of Canton. Gene was a veteran of WWII, having served in the Army. He was a member of St. Mary/St. Benedict Parish, and drove for Ohio Fast Freight for 47 years. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, son Michael, four brothers, and five sisters. He is survived by his sister Dorothy Potts; special friend Roberta Fronsman; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. Services will follow at 11 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Benson Okpara officiating. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to help defray the cost of the funeral.
