Eugene Lanzo, age 88 of Canton, passed away early Thursday morning. Born in Canton to the late Frank and Louisa (Spera) Lanzo he was preceded in death by his daughter Cindy Daverio and sisters Inez Santarelli and Mary Strata. He was a member of St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Parish, Holy Name Society and the St. Anthony Golf League. Eugene was an Army veteran of WW II. He was a supervisor with Canton Waterworks, retiring after 38 years. Eugene was a loving husband to his wife of 67 years Concetta "Connie" (Mittica) Lanzo, the best father to Kathleen (Daniel) Pellegini, Eugene Lanzo, 8 grandchildren including special grandson Joe (Samantha) Daverio whom he and Connie raised, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The consummate family man, he was his great-grandson Patrick's "Guardian Angel". He instilled in his children and grandchildren the importance of family and to always be there for one another. He welcomed all family and friends into his home any time day or night. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 6 to 8 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 am at St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Parish with Rev. Fr. Thomas Kraszewski celebrant. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
