Eugene L. Sinopoli, age 81 of Canton, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. He was born in Isca Sul Ionio, Calabria, Italy on November 5, 1944 to the late Angelo and Genoeffa (Pupo) Sinopoli.

Growing up in Italy, he immigrated to the United States in 1965. Eugene became a Chemist for General Tire, working there for over fifty years. His career took him to many countries around the world, including Mexico, India, Iran, Mozambique, Angola, and Morocco. Eugene especially enjoyed this aspect of his work, as it allowed him to travel and experience different cultures. His appreciation for language and culture was also reflected in his ability to speak five languages fluently.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Sam and Russ Sinopoli, and sister-in-law Sabine. Eugene is survived by his brothers Vito (Debbie) Sinopoli and Joe Sinopoli; nieces and nephews Dana, Angela, David (Matthew), and Paolo; zias Rosina and Gloria; as well as numerous cousins.

Eugene will be remembered for his deep love and devotion to his family, as well as the generosity he always showed them.

Private family services will be held. Entombment in North Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance (www.colorectalcancer.org).
