EVELYN H. (HAUTALA) OFER, age 93 of Canton, passed away early Friday morning. Born in Warren, Ohio to the late John and Thelma Hautala, she lived most of her life in Canton. Evelyn was a 1938 graduate of Canton McKinley High School. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John Ofer, with whom she worked for over 40 years at their family business, Ofer Custom Golf. She was also preceded in death by her sister and brother, Viola Johnson and Bill Hautala, respectively, and grandson, John Michael Ofer. Survived by her son Frank A. and daughter-in-law Louise Ofer, and son, Michael Ofer, grandchildren, Cindy (Jeff) Wernecke, Candace (Paul) Niesen, and John A. McMullan, great-grandchildren, Lindsey Wernecke, Jordan Wernecke, Callyn Niesen and great-great-granddaughter Evelyn Pearl Wernecke. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 10 to 11 am at the Rossi Funeral Home with services to follow at 11, Rev. Fr. Tom Bishop officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please honor Evelyn by being kind and loving to each other.
