Obituary

FERMINA COSTELLO MOORE

Many people say there is nothing like a mother's love, and they are right; so with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother, Fermina Moore, on Tuesday afternoon, November 17, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio. Our mother was born in Faeto Foggia Italy, to Antonia and Vncenzo Costello, on March 4, 1921. At three years of age, she immigrated to the United States. After graduating from Middlebranch High School, she was employed at the Buxbaum Company until she met and married our father, Walter (Bud) Moore. After the birth of their three children, she attended Kent State University and received her B.S. in Eudcation in 1968. She began a long career in education, teaching at St. Paul's Catholic Shcool and in the Canton Public Schools, specifically Washington Elementary and Worley Elementary. She was a well-loved and respected teacher and enjoyed and loved her students. Our mother was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her brother Anthony Costello, son-in-law Philip W. Murray and brother-in-laws John Destefano, Jim Houck and Dan Martino. But most of all she enjoyed and loved her family. She is survived by her children: Karen Kilduff Murray of Akron, Jim Moore (Carol) of Sterling Heights, Michigan and Gary Moore (Sandy) of East Canton; grandchildren: Katie Kilduff (Todd Downing) of Akron, Andrew Murray of Cincinnati, Samantha Murray of Akron, Jessica Murray Baker (Brian) of Akron, Abigail Murray Magrane of Salt Lake City, Utah, Veronica Moore Paul (Mike) of Sterling Heights, Angela Moore of New York City, and Nicholas Moore of Sterling Heights. She also leaves great grandchildren: Baylie and Presley Baker, Philip Baker, and Campbell and Quinn Magrane; and granddog Chopper. Also surviving are her seven siblings: Leonard Costello (Doris), Arbie Martino, Ed Costello (Barbara), Mary Destefano, Nick Costello (Sandy), Shirlee Picone (Gino) and Nancy Houck; along with many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 4 to 8 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am in St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish with Rev. Fr. Craig McHenry celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Words cannot express how much she meant to us. So think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched; knowing she was loved so very much by so many. She is watching us from the big casino in the sky; and will always be with us in spirit. We love you Mom.
