FLORENCE M. (AMADORE) SMITH, age 96 of Canton, passed away Thursday evening. Born in Canton to the late Joseph and Antoinette (Serchia) Amadore she was preceded in death by her brothers John H. "Sparky", Joseph Jr. and Donald Amadore, sisters Laura Caster, Thelma Ghezzi, and Viola Willis. She retired from the St. Regis Paper Company after 40 years of service. After her retirement Florence loved to travel but her family was her main love. She was a life member of St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Parish, Miraculous Medal Sodality and AARP. She is survived by her sister-in-law Alice Amadore, many nieces and nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, especially Cheryl Barclay and Scott Willis with whom she lived for the past six years. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Brenda Bracy, Florence's caregiver. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 9 to 10 am at St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Parish with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 am, Rev. Fr. Tom Bishop celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Parish.
