Frank Garcia,
Jr.
December 25, 1937 – May 6, 2024
Frank Garcia Jr., age 86 of Canton, passed away in his sleep on Monday, May 6th. Born in Canton to the late Francisco and Eva (Balcarcel) Garcia, he was a 1955 graduate of Timken Vocational High School. Frank married his high school sweetheart, Marie J. DiGiacomo, in 1959. They spent 57 wonderful years together until her passing in 2016. He was a proud member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union for 65 years. He was inducted into the Greater Canton Amateur Sports Hall of Fame for Fast Pitch Softball and Fumble Ball. Frank was a board member for the Spanish-American Men's Club of Canton. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his son Steven Garcia, in-laws Frank and Mary (Greku) DiGiacomo, and sister-in-law Delores Potter. Frank is survived by his son Frank (Valerie Powell) Garcia, grandchildren Steven Garcia, Solana Garcia, sister Linda Karman, brothers-in-law Tim Potter, Frank DiGiacomo, and numerous nieces and nephews. Frank's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Noula Wolfert, Meadow Wind Health Care Center, and Crossroads Hospice for the special and wonderful care that they all gave to him. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 5 to 7 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, 11:00 am, at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist with the Very Reverend Dr. David M. Misbrener, D. Min. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
