Gene A. Guidone, age 92 of Canton, passed away Monday, May 18, 2026. Born on March 3, 1934 in Wellsville, Ohio to the late Sabatino and Esther (Ciprian) Guidone. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 69 years Dorothy (Davis) Guidone; brothers Frank, Sam, Julio, and Paul; sisters Mary Gialluca, Ann Carozzi, Lillian Boyajian, Genevieve Stimer, and Helen Gialluca.

Gene was a retired firefighter serving the City of Canton for 27 years. He proudly served his country and community as a man in uniform, serving in U.S. Marine Corps, carrying that service of honor and dedication throughout his life. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and was an avid bowler.

Gene is survived by his children Diana (Joe) Monnot, Mike (Patty) Guidone, Gene Vince Guidone; six grandchildren Mario and Stephanie Guidone, Tony and Brittney Guidone, Joe (Brooke) Monnot II, Dr. Gina (Kevin) Burkhart; four great-grandchildren Gianna, Ariana, Joe III, and Kevin; brother John (Michelle) Guidone; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gene's name may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church.
