George J. Elias, age 94 of North Canton, passed away Friday afternoon at the Legends Care Center of Massillon. He was born in Dubois, Pennsylvania to the late James and Helen Elias. George was a Veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a salesman for Sears Roebuck and Company for 33 years, and retired in 1982. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn, and his sister Louise Mastracola. He is survived by his daughters Jennifer (James) Burress, of Perry Township, and Janet (Tim) Corbin, of Toledo. He is also survived by his five grandsons, who were very special to him and whom he adored, Dan (Emily) McLaughlin, Matthew (Ally) McLaughlin, and David, Kevin, and Sam Corbin; and one great-granddaughter, Finley. Family and friends will be received at the Rossi Family Funeral Home on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. in the Rossi Chapel. Interment will be at St. John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aultman Hospice.
