George G. Pantelas, 92 of Canton, passed away Monday, December 26, 2016. He was born in Warren, Ohio the son of Kostandinos G. Pantelas and Kiriaki Kontros Pantelas. He was a 1 ^st Sargent in WW II, fighting in four major European campaigns in General Patton's 5 ^th Infantry/Third Army. George was a self-employed businessman in Warren, Ohio before retiring and moving to Canton. He was a wonderful, loving son, husband, father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother James (Mary Ann). Survivors include his wife Evelyn (Michailides), daughter Melanie, son Dr. Gust (Carmen), grandchildren, Ari, Alex, and Cassandra, sisters Nell Kosmides and Jennie Samonides, sister-in-law Thespina Michailides, brother-in-law Dr. John Michailides, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church (4705 Fairhaven Ave. NW, Canton, OH 44709). George will be buried in a private service and laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery in Canton.
