George Rafailedes, Jr, passed away on September 13, 2025. He is survived by his twin sister Connie Rafailedes of Burleson, Texas; and many relatives. George was also the Godfather of four, and hosted three exchanges students.

He graduate from Canton Lehman High School, and earned his Master's in Art and Art History Education from Kent State University. George taught art and art history at both Lorain High School and Admiral King High School. He was the art club advisor, and also served as the Year Book Advisor from 1980- 1984 at L.H.S. Upon his retirement, he served as a substitute teacher at Brookside High School in Sheffield, Ohio; and upon moving to Canton, he served as a sub at North Canton and Lake Middle Schools and High Schools.

George also directed the choir at the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church of Rocky River, Ohio for 33 years, and received the Athenagoras Award in 1997. He also served the Greek Orthodox Chair Federation as a Past President, Central Region President, and a District Supervisor.

Family and friends will be received at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Canton on Saturday from 10 – 11 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Nicholas Halkias officiating. Interment to follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
