IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George H.
Trifelos
June 8, 1931 – September 13, 2014
George H. Trifelos, 83, passed away Sat., Sept. 13, surrounded by his adoring family.
Preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Helen (Johnson) Trifelos, he leaves his loving wife, Ronnie, of 35 years; his sister and best friend Mary Trifelos, daughters Cassandra Boyer and Stephanie (David) Ryan; stepsons Dr. Brian (Kathleen) Gerber, Stephen Gerber and Jeffrey (Ingrid) Gerber; granddaughters Alexandra and Jennifer Boyer; step-grandchildren Joshua, Eric, Samuel and Andrew Gerber; Brianna and Gabriella Graziano; brother-in-law Michael (Judith) Rackmil; plus many cousins and dear friends. Extremely devoted to family, friends and clients, George touched many lives with his optimism, sense of humor, passion for life and indomitable spirit. His compassion for mankind was evident in all aspect of his life, and his ability to inspire and mentor is fondly remembered. His children and grandchildren will forever be grateful for his unconditional love, his funny stories and the precious time they spent with him. He always made them feel larger than life. A resident of Canton for most of his life, George graduated from McKinley High School, earned his undergraduate degree in 1951 from Kent State University where he was president of the sophomore class, and received his law degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1954. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in his battalion's legal section. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Canton to practice law. During the next decade he held various positions in public service including Police Prosecutor, City Prosecutor and Assistant City Solicitor. His private law practice, from which he retired in 2003, spanned some 50 years and he was well known as an outstanding litigator. His eclectic approach to life is evident in his various endeavors beyond his law career. He co-founded Spring Valley Golf Course, and, with the Paxos brothers, founded the Canton Invaders professional indoor soccer team. As one of St. Haralambos' board members and legal counsels, he was instrumental in the historic move of the church from Sixth St. S.E. to its current location on 25 th St. N.W. George was an avid golfer, a good tennis player, a lousy skier and an accomplished pilot. He enjoyed painting and developed into an artisan woodworker. The family thanks the staff of Aultman Hospital for their loving care and profound kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory may be made to the Oahu SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), PO Box 2332, Ewa Beach, HI 96706; the St. Haralambos Philoptochos Society (A Friend of the Poor), 251 25 th St. N.W., Canton OH 44709, or St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church.
