Gerald (Jerry) McGonnell, age 79, of Canton, Ohio passed away on September 1st, 2026.

Born on November 22, 1946, he was the son of the late John and Dorothy McGonnell of Olean, NY. He was the oldest of 7 siblings.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bess McGonnell, along with their two children Michelle Pratt and John McGonnell. He is also survived by Michelle’s husband Brian and their son, Shawn.

Jerry was a USAF Vietnam Veteran, and dedicated his professional life to helping others at Mercy Medical of Canton, OH for 43 years. No matter where Jerry was: love, kindness, humor, and empathy always shined through to others.

Friends and family will be welcomed to celebrate Jerry’s life on September 12th 2026 from 10:00 am-12 noon at the Rossi Family Funeral Home.
