Geraldine "Gerrie" L. Betz, age 77 of Canton, passed away Tuesday morning at the Aultman Woodlawn Compassionate Care Center. She was born December 3, 1940 in Columbiana County and had been a Canton resident for 60 years. She retired in 2000 from the Stark County Treasurer's Office, with 41 years of service. Gerrie was a member of North Industry Christian Church. She enjoyed traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents, father George W. Betz, Nov. 11, 1958; and mother Gladys L. Betz, Dec. 22, 1993; five sisters Betty L. Betz, Irene E. Manfull, Shirley J. Shepard, Luella M. Hill and Sue Ann Betz; two brothers Leroy A. and Allen W. Betz. She is survived by one sister Virginia L. Betz of Canton; several nephews and nieces; great nephews and great nieces; great-great nephews and great-great nieces and cousins. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the funeral services on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2018 in the funeral home, with Rev. Steve Kimbrel officiating. Interment will be in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery.
