IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gloria Jean
Dichiara
September 24, 1943 – January 24, 2022
Gloria Jean (Gabriele) Dichiara, loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, died suddenly on January 24, 2022, in Massillon, Ohio.
Gloria was born on September 24, 1943, in Canton, OH, to the late Joseph and Florence (Norcia) Gabriele and was the youngest of ten children. She was a graduate of Lehman High School.
Being a caregiver was one of Gloria's many gifts, yet she wasn't just a caregiver to people. Gloria loved animals, especially dogs, and she also had a very impressive green thumb. Gloria found peace in gardening as it was one of her favorite activities she did with her daughter, Lisa. It was as if her love could be felt by the flowers and plants because while they were under Gloria's care, they bloomed to the highest potential. Family would joke that if you gave Gloria one of your plants that wasn't doing too well, not only could she bring it back to life, but it would likely quadruple in size! Although she cared for all kinds of plants and flowers, hydrangeas were her absolute favorite.
During her life, Gloria was a very hard worker and always did so with a smile. She was one of the most selfless, compassionate and exceptional caregivers you would ever have the privilege to know. Not only was she great at what she did, but she loved it! In fact, Gloria had worked on the day of her death as she was a caregiver for dear friend, Andy Halco.
Not only was Gloria both loving and loveable, but she was also so much fun to be around. Her quick and witty sense of humor combined with her unbelievable cooking and baking skills brought such life to her home. She was the perfect image of a doting Italian grandmother, with a kitchen full of homemade delicacies and a table surrounded by family. At Gloria's house, there were no strangers; everyone felt welcome.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold (aka Tubee), son Marc, brothers Joseph, Armand and Michael and sisters Rosie Price, Jenny Luchitz, Wanda Gabriele, Katherine Potter and Baby Gabriele. She is survived by her loving children Lisa Wojcik (Jamie) and Anthony (Stephanie), grandchildren Kimberly (Jordan) and Zachariah Wojcik, Carmela and Cameo DiChiara, Maria DiChiara, daughter-in-law Christine Ledford, one great grandchild on the way, sister Rhoda Gabriele, brother-in-law Ralph DeChiara; sister-in-law Antoinette "Toots" Gabriele, and many nieces and nephews.
Her family is heartbroken and devastated at her passing and misses her very much.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home (730 30th Street NW Canton, Ohio 44709). Funeral Services to begin in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Private family burial will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Gloria's name, to the Stark County Dog Pound.
