Obituary

"TOGETHER FOREVER"

Hazel Mae (Heil) Carbenia, age 96. With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and Matriarch of our family. Mom passed away May 13th at Bethany Nursing Home from complications of Pneumonia and a collapsed lung. Mom was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on December 20, 1927 to her parents Charles and Nellie Heil. When mom was a young women she moved with her family to Canton, Ohio. She went to work at Molly Stark Hospital as a cook. After World War II she met and married her husband Paul on February 5, 1946 in Hershey, PA. They were married 65 years until Dad's passing (at Bethany Nursing Home also) in 2011. In the 1960's mom worked at the College Bowl Bowling Alley in the Snack Bar as a cook. In the 1970's she worked for her brother at his restaurant Jack Frost in North Canton, as a manager and cook. Mom's first priority in her life was always taking care of her family, her husband, children, and grandchildren. She always wanted to feed everyone, you never left her house hungry no matter who you were. Mom loved everyone unconditionally with her heart and soul and was devoted to all. Mom is survived by her daughter and son Paula and Vic Fernandez of Canton, her son Paul and partner Linda Ehmer of Massillon, her grandchildren Tara and Brian Horner, Victor and Trish Fernandez, Julianne and Kenny Brown all of Canton, Brian and Catherine Carbenia of Massillon, great grandchildren Sofia (Joey) and Jessica Horner, Joey and Lola Fernandez all of Canton, Landon, Mallory and Camille Carbenia of Massillon, Many nieces and nephews she loved very much. Mom was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Paul on November 30, 2011, her daughter-in-love Janet Carbenia on September 18, 2011, her brothers Charles and Buddy (Phyllis) Heil, her sisters Evelyn (Herman) Duplain and Pauline (Bob) Sigler. Mom's caregivers were privileged to be able to take care of her every need. They were daughter and son Paula and Victor, her son and daughter Paul and Janet (deceased) and her grandchildren Tara and Brian. We were all so glad Mom received such loving care and compassion from the doctors, nurses, aides, and staff at Bethany Nursing Home. They were all so dedicated to Mom and took care of her like she was their own mother or grandmother. You are all angels from Heaven. Mom's entire family thank you for your unending devotion to her and to her family. Also a special thank you to Dr. Catherine Tabb her physician for many years. Per Mom's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Memorial service will be at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum on Tuesday, May 21st at 10:00 am with Rev. Fr. Tom Bishop officiating. All are welcome to come. In lieu of flowers please donate to a local veteran's organization, local police organization, or your favorite charity. "Mama we all thank you for loving us with all your heart. You are in God's presence now with Dad and Janet and all your loved ones. Rest in peace. We will forever miss you.
