February 5, 1924 – November 6, 2021
Helen M. (Novak) Efanti age 97 of Canton, passed away Saturday. Born in Canton to the late John J. and Kathryn (Vaclav) Novak, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Joseph A. Efanti, daughter-in-law Linda Mahoney, sisters Amelia Augustine, Margaret Machuga, Mary Bauman, and brother John Novak. Helen was a 1942 graduate of Timken Vocational High School. She grew up, attended, and was married at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and the Whipple Heights Garden Club. Helen is survived by her children Cheryl (Basil) Wankewycz, Gary Efanti, grandchildren Joanna (Brian) Wallace, Julia (Parth) Shah, Christine (Nick) Stoller, Mary (Dan) Flanagan, six great grandchildren, brother Donald Novak, sister Norma Raus, and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, 11:00 am, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. The funeral procession will form at church. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Helen's name may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice (300 N. Cleveland-Massillon Rd., Suite 103, Akron, OH 44333.
