Hobert Nichols Jr., age 85 of Middlebranch, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025, at home with his daughter by his side. Born in Spencer, West Virginia to the late Hobert and Locie (McCune) Nichols, he was preceded in death by his daughter Martha "Tootie Nichols" Malcuit, brothers Claude and Bob Nichols, and sisters Martha Nichols, Jane Short and Maxine Steele. He retired from Monarch Rubber after 47 years of service. Hobert served in the National Guard. He was an avid gardener who had the prettiest garden in Stark County. He was know as the "Small Engine Repair Guy". Hobert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Peggy (Conley) Nichols, daughter Tammy (Cliff) Cottrell, four grandchildren; Hobert D. Nichols, Clifton "Cliffy" Cottrell, Cody Cottrell, Caleb (Chyenne) Cottrell, six great grandchildren; William and Randall Nichols, Chloe, Serenity, Adalyn, and Emery Cottrell, sisters Marylou Reed, Christine Longfellow, many nieces and nephews the he dearly loved, his special friends George, Kenny, Larry, Donnie, Chuck, and Tracey, and his best friend and companion "Budder". Respecting Hobert's wishes there will be no services.
