Howard James Rutter of Canton Ohio, passed away Wednesday evening. Born 1936 in Canton to the late Howard and Margaret (Englehardt) Rutter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Catherine H. (Nicolados) Rutter. He was a 1954 graduate of Lincoln High School and a member of St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church. The first part of Howard's working career was spent in the grocery business. He started with A&P Grocery store then moved to Nickles Bakery. He then realized his dream of opening his own business, The Mediterranean Deli. He then finished out his career at Republic/LTV Steel. Above all other jobs, the ones he cherished most were that of being an amazing son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. From a hearty chuckle to a well placed "Jim-ism" he knew how to take care of everyone around him and he will be terribly missed. He is survived by his children James H. (Gretchen) Rutter of Mason, Ohio and Margaret (Joseph) Dolph of Canton, Ohio. Granddaughters Jordan and Erin Dolph of Canton, Ohio. Sisters Janice Hupp of North Canton, Ohio and Eileen Duffy of Canton, Ohio. Per Howard's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private funeral service will be held. For those who wish, memorial donations in Howard's name may be made to St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church Preservation Fund or the Alzheimer's Association.
