"Yiannis" Paxos
July 8, 1950 – March 3, 2013
Ioannis M. (Yiannis) Paxos, age 62, of Canton, passed away on March 3rd, 2013 in his home. Born in Kampia, on the island of Chios, Greece. A graduate of Canton Lincoln High School, he was a member of St. George and St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church's. Yianni was a man with passion for life, had a strong work ethic, and undying love for his family. Preceded in death by his parents Mihail and Ioanna (Kapiris) Paxos and brothers Christos and Lambros Paxos. He is survived by his wife Sophia (Giambilis) Paxos; daughter Ioanna Paxos and daughter and son-in-law Eleftheria and Ryan Cundiff; brothers and sister-in-law Costas M. and Eleni Paxos, Nick M. and Linda Paxos, Steve M. and Kelly Paxos all of North Canton, sister-in-law Anna Paxos of Canton and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Family and friends will be received on Friday from 5 to 8pm in the Rossi Funeral Home with a Trisagion Service to be held at 7pm. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:30am in St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Massillon with Rev. Yanni Verginis officiating, assisted by Rev. Dr. Nicholas V. Gamvas, Rev. Dr. Dan Rogich and Rev. Constantine Shiepis. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. George Church in Massillon or the Saint Gregory Palamas Greek Orthodox Monastery in Perrysville, OH.
