Irene came to America as a young bride in 1952, and was a proud naturalized American citizen. A woman of faith she actively involved herself in the life of her beloved church. Her service spanned decades in numerous organizations most prominently the Ladies Philoptochos Society. She enthusiastically served on countless committees, chauffeured parishioners unable to drive to meetings and doctor's appointments and, with Mary Stavrakis, faithfully visited parishioners in hospitals and nursing homes for many years.

In 1995 she received the Faithful Service Award and in 2017 the Women of Distinction Award, both recognizing her many years of dedicated service. Irene was a proud Pink Lady Aultman Hospital volunteer for many years. She was also an active member of Agia Markella Chios Society, Silver Liners and Daughters of Penelope.

Family and friends will be received Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Saint Haralmbos Greek Orthodox Church from 10-11 AM. Funeral services will begin at 11 AM. Internment at Forest Hill Cemetery; followed by Mercy Luncheon (Makaria) at church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Haralambos in her memory. The family thanks Canton Regency and SouthernCare Hospice for the wonderful care she received.
