James A. Gallo, age 81 of Canton, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. He was born in Massillon on January 20, 1938 to the late James and Mary (Varasso) Gallo. James was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, and worked for Nickles Bakery where he retired after 30 years of employment. James was a member of St. Anthony/All Saints Parish, the Massillon Eagles and the Central States Teamsters Union. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Alex and Donald Gallo; and sisters Nancy Gallo and Geraldine Schamer. James is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jean; children Tony Gallo of Canton, and Michael (Michelle) Gallo of Niles; grandchildren Anthony, Dominic, Joseph, and Katie; great-grandchildren Xavier and Kailynn. Also survived by brother and sister-in-law Robert and Jeannie Gallo of Navarre. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at St Anthony/All Saints Parish. A Memorial Mass will begin at 11 a.m. in the church, with Rev. Fr. Thomas Kraszewski as celebrant. Inurnment will follow in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to Aultman Compassionate Care Center or St. Jude Children Research Hospital.
