James A "Jim" Greenwell, Jr, age 91 of Canton, passed away Tuesday, April 26th surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born in Canton, Ohio on October 11, 1930 to the late James Sr. and Eliza (Ford) Greenwell. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna "Babe" (Monastra) Greenwell, sisters Janet Quinn and Norma Smitley. He is survived by his daughter Jody (Randon) Shumaker of Mogadore, Ohio, sons Mark (Dawn) Greenwell, Brian (Joy) Greenwell all of North Canton, seven grandchildren, Brent (Megan) Shumaker, Ryan (Angela) Shumaker, Adam (Kristin) Greenwell, Krista (Noah) Parker, Gina, Alyssa, and Michael Greenwell; ten great grandchildren, Luke, Owen and Elise Shumaker, Eliana and Mason Shumaker, Bailey Greenwell, Braedon and Asher Kinsey, Sam and Olivia Parker, and brother Robert (Sherry) Greenwell of Greenville, SC. After graduating from Louisville High School in 1948, Jim joined the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy he earned an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Following his time in the Navy, Jim worked for Prudential Insurance Company as an Agent and Registered Representative and retired after 31 years of service.
