JAMES N. SPARKS, CANTON – Jim Sparks, 52, passed away on February 6, 2025 with his loving family by his side. Jim was born on May 24, 1972 in Canton, Ohio to Regina (DiGiacomo) and Danny Sparks. Jim graduated from Perry High School in 1990 where he was involved in Perry Pipers, theater and the debate team. He then went on to earn a degree from THE Ohio State University, leading to a career in golf course management. Most recently, he was self-employed and contracted to work for Advance Auto.

Jim enjoyed playing pool, playing poker, going to the gun range, and watching sports. Jim was a die-hard Ohio State fan who got to watch his Buckeyes win the National Championship! Go Bucks! He was a loving dog dad to his three pups – Sadie, Brutus and Buckeye who already miss him so much.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Danny; grandparents, James and Carmel DiGiacomo, Newton and Lucille Sparks; and uncle, Gary Hand. He is survived by his mother, Regina; brother, Dave Sparks; nieces, Kamryn and Kendyl Sparks; aunts, Annette Hand and Carolyn (Tom) Jones; cousins, Carmalee (Rick) Hand-Cannane, Gary (Emily) Hand, Stephen Jones, Bethany (Tim) Baughman; and many other extended cousins and friends.

Jim was always quick with a joke and always had a smile on his face. His second language was sarcasm, but that's what we loved most about him. Jim was always generous throughout his life. His generosity continued beyond his death, as he was an organ donor hoping to save the lives of others.

The family would like to thank the Aultman SICU staff for their kind and compassionate care.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Rossi Family Funeral Home on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 6 to 8 p.m. A private burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to the Stark County Humane Society (www.starkhumane.org/Donate).
