Janet I. Porter, age 86 of Canton, passed away with family by her side, on Saturday, September 14, 2024. She was born in Canton on October 10, 1937 to the late Joseph and Jennie (Barbato) Andriola. A graduate of Timken Vocational High School, she was employed by Carms Grocery Store as a cashier. Janet loved spending time with her family, enjoyed cooking and playing bridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert A. Porter Sr. Janet is survived by her children Robert (Jennie) Porter, Jr., Steven (Pam) Porter, Lorraine (Eric) Sommer, and Margie (Ken) Frease; grandchildren Jeff (Katy) Porter, Steven (Marlo) Porter, Rachel (Corey) Hunka, Danny (Cindy) Porter, Nathan (Juli) Porter, Rori Porter, Amanda (Tony) Snively, Brad Sommer (Allegra Harris), Kenny (Emily) Frease, Marie (Ryan) Crabtree, and Katy (Jared) Karlson. Also survived by nineteen great-grandchildren and sister Joyce Andaloro.

A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, September 23, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Guardian Angels Parish at St. Joan of Arc Church. Inurnment in Calvary Cemetery.
