Janice K. (LaRocco) Tondra, age 72 of Tappan Lake, passed away Saturday, June 24th after a three-year battle with cancer. During that time, she showed unbelievable strength and grit and was an inspiration to us all. Born in Canton to the late Patsy and Eva (Gialluca) LaRocco, she was preceded in death by her brother Rich LaRocco. Jan was a 1969 graduate of Canton Central Catholic High School where she met her high school sweetheart, Mark, at age 16. She continued her education earning a Bachelor's Degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Akron, and then a Master's Degree from Kent State University.

She worked for the Canton City School System as a speech therapist for 26 years before retiring. Jan loved her family and spending time with them at Tappan Lake. Her family and friends will always remember her laugh, her warm heart, and the love that she had for us.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years Mark Tondra, children Matt (Sarah) Tondra, Jami (Natasha Susa) Tondra, Natalie (Sean) Tobin, grandchildren Anna, Sammy, Zeke, Nora, Liam, sister Linda (Rick) Mussey, and sister-in-law JoAnn LaRocco. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, July 16th from 12 to 1:45 p.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the Salvation Army, in Jan's name.
