Janice Marie (Polsinelli) Vitale, age 79 of Canton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 with her children at her side. She was preceded in death by her parents August and Julia (Piccari) Polsinelli; as well as her husband, Frank Vitale, who passed in 2016 and will be laid to rest with her.

Janie is survived by her daughter Gina (Tom) Gordon; son Frank (Sheila) Vitale; grandchildren Natalie (Daniel) Butler, Micha Vlacovsky, and Dean Vitale. Also survived by her great-granddaughter Sophia Marie Butler.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Audra Krebs, Dr. Justine Ingersol, and the wonderful team at Mercy Hospice who together made Mom's wish of staying at home not only possible, but also comfortable.

A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery in Massillon.
