Szymanski
January 20, 1929 – January 23, 2015
Jerome Stanley Szymanski, age 86 of Canton, went to be with Jesus on Friday. Born in Akron, Ohio to the late Stanley and Antoinette (Mileski) Szymanski, he was preceded in death by sisters Antoinette and Gloria. A graduate of Canton McKinley High School, he served as a Marine in Korea during the war (one of the "Chosun Frozen"). An officer of the American Legion in Texas, he was a member of the DAV and the VFW. He was a lifelong entrepreneur and also worked at Diebold for 10 years. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Faye (Rex) Szymanski, and nine children; Michael Szymanski of CA, Stanley Szymanski of Canton, Geri (Ronald) Swingle of CO, Maria (Steve) Franks of TX, J. Matthew (Susan) Szymanski of CA, Paul (Julie) Szymanski of Lodi, OH, Michelle (Paul) Meade of GA, Joseph (Angie) Szymanski of NJ, Christopher (Jaffa) Szymanski of CA. Also 28 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. And sisters Joann (Jim) Harcleroad of OR, Irene Sandstrom of CO, Elly Benfell of CA, Marsha (Robert) Macy of AZ, and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday (TONIGHT) from 6 to 8 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 10:00 am, also at Rossi, with Rev. Richard Quinn officiating. Interment will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the DAV in Canton, Ohio.
