Jessie L. Owens, age 80, of Canton OH, passed away early Monday, September 4, 2023. Born in Tacoma, Virginia to the late Arthur Lee and Hazel (Jackson) Owens, he was preceded in death by his brother Denvil Owens, sisters Gladys Farmer, Joyce Fulcher, Edith Potter, Mary ("Pete") Renfroe and Doris Carroll. A Navy veteran, Jessie was a retired salesman. He is survived by his wife of 28 years Victoria G. (Batchik) Owens, son Joseph Owens of Ohio, brother Wilburn Owens and sister Sue Jenkins both of Virginia, and numerous nieces and nephews on both sides of the family. He is also survived by In-laws JoAnn Mallo, Bob (Gia) Batchik, Tom (Diane) Batchik and Jonathan (Vanessa Henderson) Batchik. Jessie's love was unwavering towards his wife Vicki. He was very considerate of her feelings even at the end of his life. Respecting Jessie's wishes, there will be no calling hours or service. Jessie will be interred at The Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, OH.
