Joan J. "Mouse" (Carona) Massengale, age 87 of North Canton, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023. Born in Canton to the late Campbell and Julia (Addessi) Carona, she was preceded in death by her great granddaughter Hadley Marie. A 1954 graduate of Timken Vocational High School, she was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, past president of the Ladies Guild, past secretary of St. Peter's School Bus Club, and a Eucharistic Minister. Also, she was a member of the Springwood Lake Camp Club for 40 years, and the North Canton Eagles Ladies Auxiliary #2223 for 30 years. Mouse was employed at Imperial Lanes for 30 years, then Dollar Tree for the past 15 years. Mouse is survived by her husband of 64 years James F. Massengale, sons James F. (Ginger) Massengale, Jr., Michael G. (Vicki) Massengale, grandchildren Heather Massengale, Morgan (Rich Tanski) Massengale, Zach (Jesse) Massengale, great grandchildren Savannah, Campbell Rose, April, sisters Charlene Popa and Vicky Metz. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 5 to 7 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, 1100 am, at St. Peter Catholic Church with Very Reverend Dr. David Misbrener, D. Min., celebrant. Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joan's name may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church. Mouse truly loved her church and family. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to all the doctors and nurses who cared for Mouse, especially the medical staff on the second floor at Chapel Hill Community and Crossroads Hospice.
