Joan C. Serri, age 84 of Canton, passed away Friday afternoon peacefully with her loving children by her side. Joan was born in Akron on March 21, 1931 to the late Edward and Margaret Kiessling. She was a member Christ the Servant Catholic Parish. A retired employee of Mercy Medical Center, where she worked for 33 years at the Switchboard. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband Domenico, who passed away January 29,2005; son John; grandson Nicholas; brother Ottmar Kiessling; and sister Mary (Jean) Theis. She is survived by one daughter Joan (Raymond) Iarussi, of North Canton; sons Domenico (Bud) (Lynn) Serri, of Perry Twp., Edward (Brenda) Serri, of Malvern, Andrew (Becky) of Bismark, N.D., and David (Kay) Serri, of North Canton; daughter-in-law Donna Serri, of Canton; brother Fred (Lois) Kiessling, of Sparks, NV; 14 grand-children, and 16 great grandchildren. Family and friends will be received Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. at Christ the Servant Catholic Parish with Msgr. Lewis Gaetano as Celebrant. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joan's name may be made to Mercy Medical Development Fund.
