JOANNE R. (FRANCIS) SIMIA, age 83 of North Canton, passed away early Thursday morning after a brief illness. She was born in Canton to the late Nicholas and Rose (Saccucci) Francis. She was a graduate of Canton McKinley High School and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Joanne was retired from Danner Press. Joanne is the beloved mother of two children, Gene Simia (Yvonne) of Monroe Falls, and Susan Bianchi (Sonny Rave) of Lakewood, grandchildren Anthony and Michael Bianchi who were the joy of her life, sisters Sandra (Ray) Williams of Massillon, and Patricia Francis of Canton, and brother Nicholas (Jude) Francis of Canton, and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the nurses and aides at St. Luke's Nursing Home who took such good care of Mom over the past 10 years; you all held a special place in her heart. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm at the Rossi Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:30 am at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Edward Beneleit celebrant. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
