John A. Garcia, age 76, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023. He was born in Canton on August 16, 1946 to the late Manuel and Angelina Garcia. John was a 1964 graduate of Canton McKinley High School and a 1969 graduate of Kent State University. He became a schoolteacher, retiring from Canton City Schools after 34 years. John was an avid reader, music lover, and a friend to everyone.

He is survived by his children Michael (Varu) Garcia, Esq. of Washington D.C. and Dr. Nick (Evelyn) Garcia of Maryland; four grandchildren Mark, Desi, Jane, and Polly. He is also survived by his sisters Delores (John) Perez of Wisconsin, Anita Petry of North Canton, and Mercedes (Dennis) Winters of Alabama.

Family and friends will be received at the Rossi Family Funeral Home on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Entombment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
