Garrini, Jr.
September 20, 1933 – November 24, 2015
John J. Garrini Jr., age 82 of Canton, passed away Tuesday evening. Born in Canton to the late John J. and Miracola (Palomba) Garrini Sr., he was preceded in death by his brother Dominic and sister Norma Stefan. John was a 1951 graduate of Timken Vocational High School, attended The Ohio State University and was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a former member of the Ben V. Marconi Sons of Italy Lodge #1628, former member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Anthony Golf League, and a founding member of the Stark County Builders Association. John was a semi-pro bowler with two 300 games and was an avid OSU Buckeye football fan. He worked with his father at John Garrini & Sons Concrete Contractors, was the former owner of Hub Victor, owned and operated Garrini Construction and Garrini Company before retiring at the age of 70. John is survived by his wife of 62 years Anna (Morelli) Garrini, daughters and sons-in-law Joan and Dr. Richard Streck of Columbus, Jean and James Hoover of Canton, Linda and Mike Fidelholtz of West Bloomfield, Michigan, seven grandchildren; Tricia (Mark) Boleky, Philip and Joseph Streck, Alan and Michael Mileti, Katie and Kari Fidelholtz, four great-grandchildren, sisters Nancy Garrini, Julia Stambaugh, brother-in-law Emil Stefan all of Canton and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Friday (Today) from 6 to 8 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 am at Christ the Servant Catholic Parish with Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations in John's name may be made to Aultman Compassionate Care Center or St. Luke Lutheran Home Foundation.
